Telling the Family
Telling the family "the news" is always something to make memorable. Especially when you are far away and can't share the news face to face. We always see this as a creative challenge to pursue! We picked out special cards from our Scrap-it-Yourself card kit that Nancy, a dear friend of ours, gifted us this past winter. We picked out the perfect embellishments, wrote out a little note to Grandmas, Grandpas, Mamas, Papas, Aunts, Uncles, and cousins. The note, at first glance, appeared to be an update from Sawyer, but by the end of the letter, our family was surprised to see the closing: Love you forever, Baby Mayfield #2. JP took a trip to our closest post office, paid less than $1 to send each of them to the States, and, 2 weeks later, saw lots of excited faces on Skype!! And of course, families are always so different and quirky in their own ways. Ours tend to be on the humorous side! The Lindsays had to read the note twice to really get it. While the Mayfields knew before the letter was finished.
